School holidays - where did you go??

Wow - we're back to school already!  At the start of the school holidays we wrote a list of things we'd like to do during the holidays (partly as a way to combat the "I'm bored" whine...), and then with 2 weeks to go before school went back, we realised that we better get a move on doing some of these things!

So in the last couple of weeks of the holidays, we went to Werribee Open Range Zoo, Geelong Adventure Park (water slides etc), visited friends in Bendigo, went swimming a couple of times at the pool, and had a few play dates with friends.  Here's some photos of our fun times:

Also, in early January we had a few days in Adelaide.  Jerome had to go there to deliver some training for work, and as he was going to be there Wed-Fri, then the following Mon-Tues, he ended up staying for the weekend in between and we joined him for Fri-Tues.  Best of all, accommodation was then paid for by work, so we only had to pay for flights for Bethany and I (Jamieson is still free).  We stayed right in the city (at one end of Rundle Mall), so we walked to the tram to go to Glenelg for a day at the beach, went to parks nearby, and enjoyed our few days away from home.

While Jerome's Dad was visiting from China (where he's working at the moment), we finally got around to staining the doors in our loungeroom!  (Which have been installed for......let's just say a long time!)  Everyone got involved:

And now Bethany is back at school as a big Grade 1 girl (although she says she still feels like a Prep girl!).  She wasn't so sure about her teacher (the first time she's had a male teacher), but after the first day decided he was ok after all and has loved every minute of her first 4 days.  Yesterday they started school swimming lessons, and Jamieson and I will join them for the walk from school and the lesson on the days that he has a good morning sleep.
