New job

As mentioned previously, Jerome has been looking for a new job - and he has found one! He was looking half-heartedly for awhile, simply because his current job didn't seem like it was enabling him to move forward in his career. Also, he was on a 12 month contract (although paid like a permanent employee, with sick leave, annual leave, etc) which ends in September. Then a few weeks ago he got a new manager...and suddenly he was very motivated to look for a job NOW!! Unfortunately this manager doesn't treat people very nicely, and some of the girls in the team have been reduced to tears because of her.

So on Thursday Jerome was very excited (and relieved) to be offered a job at HP (Hewlett Packard). It's a 12 month contract and is not his ideal job career-wise, but it is very close to home and is paying great money since it's contracting, so he couldn't pass it up! It's a short bus ride to work, or he could even walk there (about 45 mins). It will also enable him to do a course in e-learning which is what he is wanting to learn. And perhaps he could also pop home for lunch with his wife sometimes :)

On another topic, Mum very kindly knitted a cardigan for Jamieson recently (we sent her the wool and needles to Malawi!) and it arrived today - here he is modelling it.
